Mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS)
This is a condition that can be associated with signs and symptoms involving the skin, gastrointestinal system, cardiovascular system and frequently neurologic complaints, such as cognitive fog. Although normally thought to release histamine related to the allergic response, multiple other chemicals are felt to be released in this condition responsible for this myriad of multi-systemic symptoms.
